Zirnhaemr is like a turtle: lumbering, grumbly, and has a tough shell to shield his softer insides. He is naturally defensive, suffering from a slight case of fragile masculinity thanks to his own perception of his delicate hobby.
Much to his younger self's chagrin, Zirn was made to take up painting to help manage some temper issues, but found himself quite passionate about it after outgrowing his excessive anger. However, a beginner's paintings do not pay the bills proper, and he had no choice but to find work elsewhere. After spending a fair few monotonous years doing gritty work as a fisherman, he's decided he's no longer interested in living his life dishonestly from his true self-- a big lug who just wants to afford expensive art supplies so he can paint someone like one of his Elezen girls... and never have to see another momora mora ever again.

Dislikes & Fears
Zirn dislikes being goaded.
He HATES momora moras, the rat infestation of the seas.
He fears his own anger and not much else.
Zirn can usually manage to remain calm in most situations, but mentioning a certain kind of fish will get his gysahl greens steaming in a heartbeat. His hate for this fish is inexplicably impassioned.
He is Aiswyda's cousin.
Zirn grew up an angry child who often took out his frustrations on everything (and everyone) around him. After an incident that put his wanton tendencies into a harsh perspective, he was pushed into picking up a paint brush to channel his focus into something with much less destructive potential. He was hesitant to admit his newfound passion for painting, and often did so in secret, to the point where he would destroy his paintings soon after completion to keep his innermost expressions away from prying eyes.
When money grew scarcer than ever, he had yet to outgrow his shame. He very willingly repressed his desires so he could fall into a more surefire line of work. He forewent the arts and made a few gil a day sailing and fishing.
True desires can only be suppressed for so long. After years of settling, Zirn has recently decided he can do a bit better. Despite having little to no savings to fall back on, he has moved on to greener pastures (hopefully, Twelve permitting) to pursue painting in earnest.
Zirn is open for commissions!
His demeanor becomes odd and evasive when his family is brought up for any reason at all.
Zirn has a compulsive desire to defend his own pride.
